Coming Soon to a (Home) Theatre Near You

I can’t wait! The first full-length Wallace & Gromit movie. I haven’t even told the boy about this one yet. (October)

The new ‘un from David Cronenberg. (late September)

Although we have to wait ’til August, Season Four of Six Feet Under is on the way. I’m PiVo’ing Season Five without watching it ’til I catch up with all of this one.

After four years, it’s about time we finally got to see Prozac Nation.

The Erroll Morris DVD Collection – well, three of his films, anyway.

Forget the Bad News Bears. A Scanner Darkly is newest film from Richard Linklater that I wanna see.

Almost last of these releases, though certainly not the least: Oh. My. God. Strangers With Candy – the freakin’ movie! (late October)

Palm and Handspring

OVER THE WEEKEND I DUG UP the ol’ Handspring Visor Neo, which I hadn’t used for about four months or so.

Does anyone have any accolades for must-have applications (shareware, freeware or otherwise)? I’m currently running the Palm OS 3.5, though I could probably push it to OS 4.

Suggestions are most welcomed.

Say Uncle

CONGRATULATIONS TO MY BROTHER, Cormac and his wife Peggy, on the birth of their son, Emmet. When I told the boy he had a new cousin he asked “Are they giving him to me?”

Also, Happy Birthday Nick!

No Drummer Jokes, Please

An article in The Times on the sex-for-gigs side of the classical music world made this drummer blush a little.

Please, no drummer jokes – at least the next little while. Let me enjoy this moment.

First Clue?

NOW THAT THE PRE-SUMMER HEATWAVE has broken, I can actually think without the brain swelling. I mean, come on, 39˚C with the humidex!?

Since today’s a more comfortable 14˚C, I decided that biking to the gym would be the way to go. First stop: pay some outstanding parking tickets at the local bank branch on the way.

So, there I am at the counter, helmet and windbreaker on (why bother taking all the gear off for a two minute errand?), water bottle and gloves on the counter, ready to pay the fines.

The young lady at the counter was training a new fellow, perhaps a summer student, and the attempt to make small talk as her protégé was debiting my account was “Going biking?”

I behaved myself accordingly.
