My recent procurement of a new PowerBook has begun my initiation to the new and exciting world of Tiger.
After the whole “holy shit, this wee monitor is sharp and may take some getting used to” first impressions, the only new feature that I’ve made time to play with so far are the widgets. Other than the local weather, the coolest widget I’ve found so far is Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies, which I’m sure has been the source for the daily Disinfo newsletter.
Over the next while I’ll be moving stuff from the desktop box, hopefully without too much hassle, setting up the Airport Extreme base station and, of course, mucking about with GarageBand.
Possible mp3s in the future.
Dear Mr. Bush,
Please.
Don’t fuck this one up.
You have more pressing matters to attend to, non?
Best,

Okay, so it’s been ten years since he was the NDP Premier of Ontario and he’s done some noteworthy stuff to distance himself from the days of Ontario’s Great Recession. Mr. Rae, it has been said, was supposed to have had been a contender for the position before the current Governor General was appointed. A report from yesterday’s on-line Globe and Mail gives us the impression that he’s “high on a list of possible successors” for the job.
As you can tell from the Wiki spot on him, he seems like a pretty decent guy who probably wouldn’t take an overblown entourage on European wine tasting tours to “promote” Canada.
Aaanyhoo…
AS I’VE BEEN A DIGITAL CABLE SUBSCRIBER for a while now, I decided to mix ‘n’ match my own specialty channel package to include BBC Canada. The reason being Little Britain, which, if I may say so, is fucking hilarious! If Mr. Show was Python’s American bastard, Little Britain is its half-brother from a subsequent liaison.
Or something like that.
For those without digital cable, Showcase is airing the first season Wednesdays at 10pm.
w00t.
As for BBC Canada: enough with the goddamn home/fashion makeover shows already!
