Headlines du fromage

So, “rags-to-riches” sensation, Shania Twain, was in Toronto yesterday to promote her new Shania fragrance. One of the Monday-to-Friday freebie newsrags this morning featured her on its cover with some witty copy like “Shania’s Scent-sation”, or something equally as bad. She’s then off to Ottawa to receive her well-deserved Governor General’s award.

Too bad tommorw’s Saturday. It would have been kinda fun to see “Shania’s Odour of Canada” or something just as tasteless being splashed about.

The wife came up with that one.

Swan Rape?

I’m not cultured enough to either enjoy or care about the ballet, though I have to say, the title of a certain article posted on the Globe and Mail’s site this morning did pique my interest somewhat. For instance:

bq. Controversial plays often generate such lively post-theatre discussions, but rarely do ballets. On the other hand, conventional interpretations of Swan Lake do not usually contain a gang rape or a white-slavery meat market.

And just in time for the holiday season. I can only imagine what the director would do with The Nutcracker. Ouch!

So, I’ve finally made the time to set up the Nokia 6225 to upload pics to my Flickr account. Easy as sending an e-mail. Will attempt to update semi-regularly – at least until the next mobile service bill arrives.
