My primary approach is, if I want to eat something "bad" (cookies, cakes, fried stuff, etc.), it can't be bought — I have to make it from scratch. That's reduced the amount of crap I eat dramatically, and when I do eat something, I know exactly what went in it. As far as vegetarian cookbooks go, "Quick-Fix Vegetarian" is really good. I try to make recipes that can be made in 45 minutes or less, and all of the recipes in this book seem to be pretty fast. My theory is that the amount of time a year FEELS like is relative to your age. Being 40 now, 1/40th of my life is really not that much time compared to the 1/12th, or 1/20th it used to be.... I can't imagine how fast it will seem to go by when its 1/60th, or 1/80th? Like you, my goals for the new year are not typical ones, but goals non the less...
