Finally got around to finding an online source which has the NATO Alphabet along with some older variations. Something I’ve been meaning to do for a couple of years now but never remembered to. Perhaps the new Wilco album title has brought that thought into the forefront of triviality.

Sick and Gigging
Being sick is such a drag.
Elliot turns a year-and-a-half old today. Some say eighteen months. Of course there’s always that comedic bit on when to stop referring to your child’s age in months (ie. This is my son. He’s 47 months old. Ha ha). That shit is so tired.
I’ll be gigging with Nadjiwan for the Return of the Drum Festival in Owen Sound this Saturday. Last year was a lot of fun. I’m hoping Marc rents another one of those bohemeth SUVs that block out the sun (Canyonero, ya-hah, cracking whip sound).
Beats driving my clunker for three hours each way.

Insomnia
Happy Father’s Day, gents.
After a couple ‘o weeks of delay, I’m back to updating this page. Elliot provided the self-portraits. It’s been a busy time – vacationing, rehearsing, gigging and checking out some awesome live music. No luck catching up on my reading though.
I managed to track down the original version of Insomnia yesterday at my old neighbourhood video store (man, do I miss that place). Well worth it if you can find it as it’s better than the remake (of course). Stellan Skarsgard’s is amazing in this flick. The guy’s so intense that he never looks like he’s acting.

Keep On Trucking
I’m offline for the weekend. Elliot’s not big enough to reach the keyboard to update this site. It’s the end of the month, the weather is changing significantly, work is changing, my birthday is very soon. Life is never dull.

No Bowl Cuts Here, Thank You Very Much
Q: What has two thumbs and loved Insomnia?
A: This guuyyy!
Elliot had his first-ever haircut this morning, courtesy of Mom (no Flo-bee vacuum or bowl haircuts here, thank-you). Since he didn’t cry, we didn’t have to give him a sucker. Perhaps it’s the barbers (strangers with scissors) that are scary to kids and not the actual cutting of the hair. I don’t remember.
I’m all booked to go to NYC later this week. I’m excited to see my friends (the soon-to-be parents), my bro, more friends, the city, etc. I haven’t been there since everything changed. I’m kind of nervous about how it all looks now.
