Hey, That’s My Bike!

HAVING HAD MY BIKE STOLEN from the basement of our building was a total fucking drag. Having no bike now that spring is in full swing is an even bigger one, especially since riding to the gym would have me warmed up by the time I got there.

Seeing the boy in action and having a pile of fun on his new ride was all it took to get me to buy a bike of my own.

Bike

ONE OF THE FIRST SONGS that my now four-year-old son took to was “Bike” by Pink Floyd of their classic Piper at the Gates of Dawn. This quirky and very likable song had been the subject of much discussion on the Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett Story.

This evening, Elliot and I paid a visit to our local Canadian Tire to get him his first bike. At first, he was a bit hesitant to try it out in the store, stating that he’d wait ’til after I bought it for him. Uh, yeah. After a wee bit of coaxing he was whipping around the store like a daredevil. I couldn’t help saying under my breath “Fuck, my kid is riding a bike now!” I mean, come on…already!?

As you can imagine, not only does the boy now have his very own bike, but also a theme song to go along with it as he pedals.

All in a Name II

ONE THING I HAVEN’T BEEN able to figure out as of late: all the visits to this site based on searching the word “gord” or “Gord”, depending on your style of surfing.

What does someone hope to find out by typing a single name into a search engine? Not to mention a very common name that doesn’t come with a lot of baggage or stigma, like say, Manson, Spiderman or Charo?

American science, that is.

Thanks for wasting your time here.

For everyone else: as you were.
