This Week in Reviews

IT’S BEEN KINDA TIGHT IN THE CASH DEPARTMENT when it comes to buying CDs as of late. As a result, I’ve had a couple of discs for review in heavy rotation for the past few weeks that I’ve really been digging. Stop by this week’s edition of The Brain to hear some snippets, read about them and much, much more.

Congrats to Clive Thompson and his Collision Detection for the deserved recognition from The Village Voice. Well done, sir.

Happy Thanksgiving/Columbus Day, depending on where in North America you may be. For the rest of the world, only four more days ’til the weekend.

Smokulator

IF EVER THERE WAS A REASON to quit smoking, besides reducing the risk of cancer to yourself and those around you, improving your health and your appetite and giving a big “fuck you” to big tobacco, it would be this.

Congrats Steve! Excellent work John!

If anyone has a suggestion for a Spare-Tire-Removulator, by all means get in touch with me. I’ve even started drinking grapefruit juice daily, ‘fer gawdsakes!

Redundancy Department of Redundancy

On a slightly more serious note, for those that we’re amazed to hear a list of foreign leader’s names correctly pronounced in last week’s debate, this may offer some insight.

All in a Name

MY WIFE CAME UP WITH THIS ONE a few years back: Why is it that with the name Robert you can be called Rob or Bob, yet there’s no such name Bobert?

Any ideas?
