The Science of Government
I heard the tail-end of a “report” on governmentium, a new “scientific element”, early the other morning on CBC Radio One’s Metro Morning. Courtesy of the Dull Men’s Club:
bq. A minute amount of governmentium causes one reaction to take over four days to complete when it would normally take less than a second. Governmentium has a normal half-life of three years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.
Merry Christmas.
Happy Holidays.
(insert non-offensive festive wishes here)

Uh, Happy Birthday?
Not like it’s the type o’ thing that one celebrates, but today, for us Canadians, marks the 15th year of the goddamned Goods and Services Tax. FIFTEEN YEARS! Remember how Brian Mul-ruin-y was supposed to introduce it as a temporary measure? Hmm? Remember how he resigned a few years afterwards? Hmm?
Today seems to have been a dark day in the history of the then “Progressive” Conservative Party. It certainly did progressively become conservative.
Also on this day in Canadian Conservative history: the door of 24 Sussex Dr. hits Kim Campbell in the ass.
