Mollys

nature

Since my daughter was born, I haven’t had a lot of time when it comes to making music in GarageBand. However, the day before she was born, when we still didn’t know that she would be a she, I put together a track called “Molly”, which is the name she was given.

The beauty of teh internets is getting to meet and work with cool people from all around. Guitarist David McCreath was kind enough to respond to my e-mail request to lay down some of his six-stringed richness on said track for the 2.0 version (thanks again, Dave!).

Itchy Fingers

shoes on a wire

Having spent a great deal of time using Toshio Iwai‘s Electroplankton, I am very, very much wanting his latest project, created with Yamaha: Tenori-on.

Sir Ranjit Bhatnagar has also kindly hipped me onto Monome, based out of Philadelphia, who are handcrafting a similar device for sale soon (check out their vids).

O Christmas time, how I wish you would come early this year.

Chronicle

chronicle blurb

I just happened upon this at lunch today and wanted to jump up and down, shouting with glee.

This past spring (when I was a Vox user), I posted a YouTube link for a trailer of the (then) upcoming Chicago Underground Trio DVD Chronicle and wrote a wee bit. It seems that someone from Delmark happened upon my post and found it blurb-worthy, as I discovered this ad this afternoon in the July 2007 issue of The Wire.

Back when I wrote music reviews on a semi-regular basis, I sometimes dreamt of a band using a blurb of mine on a CD sticker and of writing something for The Wire.

I can kinda/sorta check those items off now.

Congrats, Jay!

On another note, Molly’s seven months old today!

Oh, and I’m 18 years at the same job. I thought I’d be there a year to save up for school.

I start school this Saturday.
